The MMVA's Have Come and Gone

After months of Much Music building up excitement about the MMVA's they finally arrived!

The MMVA's were amazing! There was so much excitement starting from 6am. There were line ups everywhere, fans trying to find celebrities and security screaming at anyone they can find for no apparent reason.

My friends and I were in the line for the red carpet viewing. We had to face the bipolar weather for 8 hours until they finally let us into the red carpet area where we had to wait another 2 hours before the guests started to arrive.

The red carpet was definitely my favourite part from this whole experience. I saw everyone right when they came out of their cars. They came straight to us first. I only got three autographs but I was so close to everyone I wasn't disappointed in the least.

Once the red carpet was done, my friends and I tried to get into the main stage to see the performances but they gave us a spot where we couldn't see any of the stages! We tried our best to push and squeeze through to get closer but we knew there was no hope so we left the awards early :( but before we left, I did get to see Ed Sheeran perform on the second stage before security kicked us out for good.

Since this was my first MMVA's I wasn't too disappointed in not getting to the main stage but next year I am going to go in with a plan and get front row.

If any of you went to the MMVA this year or any other year let me know how it went. Also if you've been to any other awards show I would love to know about your experience.

Song of the Week #1

My number one favourite song at the moment is "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton. To be honest, when it first came out I was not a big fan of it. I'm not quite sure why but that's in the past now. This song is so catchy and oddly enough it's always on the radio when I'm driving.

This song has it all. It's catchy, it is a good follow up from "Thrift Shop", Ray Dalton sounds amazing in the chorus and it is great as a celebration/party song.

Let me know what your songs of the week are. I would love to find more music that have a good celebration vibe to it.

Until Next Time,
Cecile

The MMVA's Are Coming!

This Sunday I am going to be attending the MMVA's! I am super excited about this as it is my first time going. PSY is co-hosting with the Much Music VJ's this year and some performers/ presenters that are coming include:

- Taylor Swift
- Demi Lovato
- Ed Sheeran
- Mariana's Trench
- The Janoskians
- Austin Mahone
- Cody Simpson
- Lucy Hale
- Brittany Snow
- and MANY more!

Even though I am excited about going to my first ever awards show, I am kinda freaking out about what I'm going to wear.

These are some outfits I made on Polyvore so I could have some idea on what I should wear.

I am thinking of wearing either black capris or denim jeans. I'm not sure if I should wear shorts since it is during the night and it might be chilly. I am thinking of wearing either a cropped top, muscle tee or anything denim. I would pair this with a cross body but I'm not too sure which one yet and as for shoes I have no clue but I might be going towards the toms at this point.

If you have any suggestions or comments about what I should wear, please let me know as it would be very helpful.

Until Next Time,
Cecile

Rugby and Europe | My Life: Updated

Hey bloggers! I know I haven't been on in a VERY long time. I missed blogging very much but there was no time! I thought I would do a mini update on what has happened in my life since I've been gone.

1) I went to Niagara Falls with my rugby team. We played a prom dress themed tournament. Sadly we lost all four games but we still had a good attitude at the end.

2) Also about rugby but we can second for the Tier 2 division in our school board. We were losing by one try and we had to go into overtime. It was very stressful but we were still grateful for this season because we became a family.

3) My final exams are coming up in the next week or two and I am very nervous about them. All I've been doing is catching up on my homework and notes. My grades are decent but it's still going to be stressful. I already have a conflict with my exam schedule. I have an Accounting and French exam scheduled for the same time so I have to get that sorted out.

4) My and my cousin, Janine, are going to Europe for the summer. We plan on visiting Germany, Italy, Paris, Austria, London and Belgium. I already have some blog post ideas for my trip which I'm excited for.

Playing rugby with those dresses on was harder than I thought it would be

Three Ingredient Cookies

Lately I've been motivated to get back into shape but I've also been craving cookies. My solution to this was to google healthy cookies. I found a simple and easy recipe so I decided to give it a try. I did alter the recipe a bit just so I would enjoy it a bit more.

You will need:
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup of uncooked quick oats
  • 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips
  • a bowl
  • something that can mash it all together
  • parchment paper
  • pan

The first step is to set the oven to 350 F. Then mash the bananas and uncooked oats together. Once its mashed, add the chocolate chips and mix it in well.

Then section the 'cookie dough' into 4-6 sections and make them round. Place a parchment paper on top of the pan and place the cookies on the parchment paper.

Place them in the oven for 13-15 minutes and voila! Easy and quick to make cookies.

I told my friend about this recipe and she loved it as well. An alternative to chocolate chips could be almond slices, walnuts, blueberries etc. If you try this recipe or make any adjustments, let me know! I would love to try them out.

Until Next Time,

Cecile

Day 5 of My Health Journey

Today was an amazing day! I got back some amazing school marks AND I am on track to becoming more fit and healthier.

Breakfast: half a whole wheat pita bread with some peanut butter and honey

Lunch: a medium boiled potato with unseasoned grill chicken and half a cucumber

Snack: 4 almonds

Dinner: Kebab with rice and hummus

Fitness: My goal was to jog outside again but the weather did not agree with me. Instead I half jogged half walked for 45 minutes.

I forgot to take pictures of my meals today but here are some look alikes.

These are the closest images I could find on google. They are also way bigger portions than what I actually ate.

If you have any tips for me or suggestions that would be great!

Until next time,

Cecile

Day 3 of My Health Journey

Breakfast: Pita bread with feta cheese and apricot jam.

Lunch: A small falafel wrap from Extreme Pita. I put in some lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, hummus, black olives and a garlic spread.

Snack: When I got home I was a bit hungry so I cut up some carrots and ate them with some ranch dipping sauce and homemade hummus as well as some almonds.

Dinner: I haven't eaten dinner yet but I think I'm going to have grilled chicken with some cucumber and feta cheese drizzled in vinegar.

Fitness: My friend and I are going jogging again tonight. I think we want to keep the same pace as last time or maybe even beat it.
