Three Ingredient Cookies

Lately I've been motivated to get back into shape but I've also been craving cookies. My solution to this was to google healthy cookies. I found a simple and easy recipe so I decided to give it a try. I did alter the recipe a bit just so I would enjoy it a bit more.

You will need:
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup of uncooked quick oats
  • 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips
  • a bowl
  • something that can mash it all together
  • parchment paper
  • pan

The first step is to set the oven to 350 F. Then mash the bananas and uncooked oats together. Once its mashed, add the chocolate chips and mix it in well.

Then section the 'cookie dough' into 4-6 sections and make them round. Place a parchment paper on top of the pan and place the cookies on the parchment paper.

Place them in the oven for 13-15 minutes and voila! Easy and quick to make cookies.

I told my friend about this recipe and she loved it as well. An alternative to chocolate chips could be almond slices, walnuts, blueberries etc. If you try this recipe or make any adjustments, let me know! I would love to try them out.

Until Next Time,

Cecile

Day 5 of My Health Journey

Today was an amazing day! I got back some amazing school marks AND I am on track to becoming more fit and healthier.

Breakfast: half a whole wheat pita bread with some peanut butter and honey

Lunch: a medium boiled potato with unseasoned grill chicken and half a cucumber

Snack: 4 almonds

Dinner: Kebab with rice and hummus

Fitness: My goal was to jog outside again but the weather did not agree with me. Instead I half jogged half walked for 45 minutes.

I forgot to take pictures of my meals today but here are some look alikes.

These are the closest images I could find on google. They are also way bigger portions than what I actually ate.

If you have any tips for me or suggestions that would be great!

Until next time,

Cecile

Day 3 of My Health Journey

Breakfast: Pita bread with feta cheese and apricot jam.

Lunch: A small falafel wrap from Extreme Pita. I put in some lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, hummus, black olives and a garlic spread.

Snack: When I got home I was a bit hungry so I cut up some carrots and ate them with some ranch dipping sauce and homemade hummus as well as some almonds.

Dinner: I haven't eaten dinner yet but I think I'm going to have grilled chicken with some cucumber and feta cheese drizzled in vinegar.

Fitness: My friend and I are going jogging again tonight. I think we want to keep the same pace as last time or maybe even beat it.

Endless Lists

I am a list person. I can make lists about anything. It's a way to be organized and stay on task which I definitely need help with. One of the list I have are things I want to purchase in the near future. I thought I would share some of the items on the list with you.

The American Apparel nail lacquers are currently on sale for 3 for $15. I bought 6 of them already in New York but I want some more so I figured this was perfect timing. The colours are (from left to right) Angeline, Pink Ladies, Rose Bowl and African Violet.

The two bows on the bottom are also from American Apparel. They are in the colours Dark Jade and Mauve Poly.

The muscle tee on the top row is from Forever 21 for $13.80. It is in an ombré tribal print and I think it would be perfect from the summer. The shirt on the bottom row is from Forever 21 as well and it's for $27.80. I like the army green colour and I probably would wear it with a bustier or bandeau. The necklace is $18.80 and its a bejewelled flower necklace.

The last item is the office city bag from Zara. It's only $49.99 which I think is a reasonable price. The bag has many different sections to fit my laptop, iPad and even iPhone. It would be perfect to travel with or go to work with.

I have many more items I am hoping to buy but these are some of the priority items in my opinion. I'll post more of these it you'd like. Comment on your favourite item from this list or give me some items to add.

Until next time,
Cecile

Casual Saturday

Today was a very relaxing Saturday. My dad took me and my cousin out for breakfast (yummy). We then went shopping at a nearby outlet. Unfortunately, I didn't buy anything but I think I'm going again tomorrow only because I had my eye on a few things I've been dying to get. We then came back to my house and caught up on some Youtube and TV shows.

Since we were going to my grandma's, we decided to make an outfit of the day so we wouldn't get bored. These are pictures of what I wore.

Navy blue jacket from Winners, jeans from Forever 21, the Uggs were a gift and so was my Juicy Couture laptop bag.

Day 1 of My Health Journey

Today was the first day for the anti diet. If you haven't read my last post, I decided to start The Londoner's anti diet (link is in my last post). My food options are very limited since my mom is away on vacation and me and my dad can't really cook full meals.

Breakfast: I was craving some Eggo's which isn't a healthy option but instead of my usual 2 I decided I wouldn't starve if I only ate one. I usually top my Eggo's with honey and some cheese slices on the side.

Lunch: I took some left over lasagna to school. I had a smaller portion and I also ate slower which helps me becoming more full faster. As a snack I brought some almonds.

Dinner: My dad took my out to Swiss Chalet. This is a place of temptations but I gave up that quarter chicken dinner and got me some chicken noodle soup and a house salad with dressing on the side. I also only lees than half of the dressing they gave me and it was more than enough. Extra helth points for me!

For fitness my friend, Olivia, and I went for a jog. We signed up for a 10 km a couple weeks back and we started training. Today we jogged/walked 3 km in 26 minutes. We beat our last time by 6 minutes which was such an accomplishment for both of us. Next time our goal is to finish in 24 minutes (1 km every 8 minutes).

Those french fries were my dad's which I did not eat any of.

The Beginning of My Health Journey

Last night I decided to start The Londoner's anti diet. My friend, Chloe, introduced me to it a few nights ago so I thought I should check it out. Turns out it was definitely worth my time. I think this would be a life changer for me. All the tips seem so useful and helpful so this is day 1 of many for me using it. This anti diet will hopefully help me become more fit and happier with the way I eat.

Here are some of my favourite points from her post.

     1) The anti diet is about realizing the difference between physical hunger and emotional hunger. Emotional hunger is bad and should be avoided at all costs. The hunger would come suddenly and causes unhealthy cravings. Eating when you have emotional hunger would causes guilt and that is never a good thing.

     2) The anti diet post taught me that water is amazing. Usually when you think you're hungry, you are actually thirsty. So next time when you feel the urge to eat, drink some water and wait 10-15 minutes. If you're still hungry then eat.

     3) The Londoner taught me there is a hunger scale. Her blog has a diagram of the different stages of hunger but basically to eat you should be at a 3 or 4 our of 10 and stop eating until 5 or 6. Anything above 6 means you will become uncomfortable and bloated.
I took this picture from The Londoner's anti diet post.
Since I am going to start this anti diet, I am going to try posting daily about how I am doing food wise as well as fitness wise. My next post which will come shortly will be about today and how I did as well as some goals.

If you have any goals that you are working towards or want to start achieving, let me know! I would love to here your goals and how you are reaching it.

Till next time (which will be soon),

Cecile

My First OOTD

Today I thought I would try an outfit of the day post. I've never done one before but thought it would be fun to try it out and see what you guys think.

It was my cousins birthday a couple days ago and we went out to celebrate. We went to PF Chang's for dinner (one of my new favourite places to eat) and then we snuck in to watch Spring Breakers (not a very good movie).

Anyways here is my attempt at an outfit of the day!

So this is the whole outfit. I was going for a sophisticated yet casual look if that makes sense.
I painted my nails a baby blue. I got this colour at American Apparel. It's part of my New York Haul post. It's in the colour, American Denim with a matte top coat.

These shoes are are from Polo Ralph Lauren.

I borrowed this necklace from my cousin and I believe she said it was from Material Girl.

For my purse option I decided to go with my new brown Michael Kors cross body.

My blue lace shirt is from Forever 21 and underneath I wore a navy blue bustier also from Forever 21.  You can also see the full length of the necklace and some of my black blazer.

My hair is curled and I placed an American Apparel purple bow in my hair to secure the loose strands that I hate lingering at the front of my face.

And finally a silly picture of me to end this off in a good note.
Please let me know how I did for my first outfit of the day. I would love to receive any feedback and maybe I'll do this again!
